Move Over Millennial Pink, There Is A New Makeup Shade In Town!

There is just no better way to keep up with all the latest developments in the world of hair and makeup than by regularly checking Instagram. Every trend worth following (and so many that are anything but, like the fishtail brows, for example…) must first go through a baptism by fire on the social media website before becoming widely accepted. If they’re successful, then they will go viral and become the new craze that’s sweeping the nation, not unlike these gorgeous hairstyles.

Another trend that made it through the qualifying rounds and ended up being a winner was the millennial pink hue. The love for this “grapefruit shade of apricotty salmon”, as described by The Guardian, still hasn’t faded; if you need proof, just take a look at any of Glossier’s most recent products. But even if the millennial pink isn’t going anywhere, it seems like it will have to face some stiff competition if it is to keep the title of Instagram’s favorite color.

Meet the underdog: Gen Z yellow. This particular tone has become an Insta hit and it can currently be found everywhere around the photo-sharing application. People are going crazy for it – well, they’ve actually been going crazy for it ever since last summer, when online fashion magazine Man Repeller came up with the name. However, Gen Z yellow has so far been used mostly for clothes, as you can see from actress Greta Gerwig’s gown at the Oscars this year. But now it’s making its move into the field of makeup and we just love it!

Check it out! Isn’t it gorgeous? Tell us what you make of it in the comments!
