Home Alone Or Maybe Not? Macaulay Culkin Talks Conspiracy Theories

Who thought that Home Alone would become one of those movies always bound by various conspiracy theories? But after so much time, I think we deserved a bit of clearing the air, don’t we? I guess this is exactly what once-child-star actor Macaulay Culkin thought when he appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon a couple of days ago. Why? Because the two of them couldn’t stop talking about all the conspiracy theories!

Here’s the video of Macaulay Culkin discussing Home Alone conspiracy theories:

We all know that super fans of any movie can create the craziest and most bizarre of theories. And that’s the case for Home Alone too. During the last few years a ton of new conspiracy theories cropped up, ranging from the movie being set in the same universe as Friends to others suggesting Kevin McAllister growing up to become the Jigsaw Killer.

Speaking on Fallon’s show, Culkin still gave some relevance to some of the more amusing theories. One of the most interesting questions was why Kevin, an intelligent and self-reliant little boy, would make such a meticulously planned scheme when there were much easier solutions.

“OK, this kid’s a really clever kid right? But these guys are about to break in, why doesn’t he just call the cops?” Culkin asked himself too. 1:0 for the conspiracy theorists!

“He makes a master plan, he uses Micro Machines, but for real, there’s landlines. There’s no cell phones, but still. I think that’s an enormous plot hole. I don’t actually spend my days thinking about it, though,” he added.

Culkin also commented on one of the most outrageous theories out there – the Elvis thing. Some people actually believe that Elvis is still alive and that he appeared in the movie as an extra.  Then Fallon showed Culkin a photo of this… supposed Elvis… standing behind Catherine O’Hara, Culkin’s mother in the movie.

What followed was the ton of fake news stories about the 37-year-old actor’s death. Macaulay’s comment? He explained that he has to deny this rumor once every year.

Home Alone remains one of the most-liked movies of all time.

In case you don’t know the most famous Home Alone conspiracy theories, we are listing a few below:

Reddit user Jordoom suggests that Home Alone’s protagonist Kevin (Culkin) became Jigsaw (from Saw!) after being neglected by his parents, which left him a little twisted. Jordoom compared Kevin’s ability to create cruel and unusual punishments for the would-be burglars Marv and Hary, with the cruel and unusual punishments meted out by Jigsaw.

It… It actually makes sense.

Old Man Marley, who helps Kevin, is actually Kevin from the future, sent back to save himself.

Shrug.

Uncle Frank had a hit put out on Kevin, presumably because he just doesn’t like him.

Err, okay?

I guess everything is possible, isn’t it? I for one propose the theory that Kevin is actually Darth Vader. Just think about it.
